I am trying to figure out why my storage suddenly prompted a Takeover with the standby controller.
I cant find anything on the logs. Is there anything else to be checked?
For the knowledge of everyone,
As per Nimble, this was a known issue and a fix was planned for the upcoming 2.2.5 OS release
Kate. Thanks for posting your question first of all.
This seems like the standard answer, but calling support Toll Free: 1-877-364-6253http://www.nimblestorage.com/support/, or emailing them at firstname.lastname@example.org will yield the best result.
They will likely request you to establish a secure tunnel to your system where they will issue commands in the CLI to determine the cause of the failover.
There are many reasons why a failover would occur, the most common being Firmware upgrades.
They should be able to help pinpoint exactly what caused this particular failover to occur.
Ohh I see. Thanks will do that.
We have a CS700 that has experienced the controller take-over issue.
Nimble informed me that it will be resolved in an imminent firmware release. I think it will be in 18.104.22.168 (and higher).
2.2.5 is made Generally Available for production workloads as of today!
