High Praise for the Nimble Support Engineers

After dealing with issue after issue after our 1gb to 10gb core upgrade on 10/4 I called Nimble support yesterday and John was able to solve my problems in what seemed like no time at all. I have cases open with HP, VMware, EqualLogic as well as Cisco and nobody could figure out a solution. We all knew it was issues with the Broadcom NICs and not the Emulex NICs that were in some hosts, but everyone was stumped. We migrated everything production except for two large SQL servers off of the EqualLogic’s and onto the new Nimble shelf because the EqualLogic volumes were performing the worst, and then we started having more Nimble problems. 500ms latency from the guest type of problems!!!


One measly checkbox to disable delayed ACK and a VMware KB article http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=1002598 solved all of our issues on the hosts of ours that had Broadcom NICs.


Thanks to John and the team of engineers that work with him we now have happy customers again!
